Distinguished Representatives of the United Nations Command in Korea

We are here to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the participation of the Turkish troops in the Korean War.

It was 1950, 60 years ago; circumstances were difficult, communication was not easy, transport was not easy.

But there was a call to defend independence and freedom; democracy was in danger.

It would also be the first test of the principles enshrined in the UN Charter.
